Description

 

The One-on-One Assistant is assigned to provide support for a child who requires assistance throughout the day.  The One-on-One assistant is a non-certificated staff member who assists students under the direction of the classroom teachers and/or certified staff to promote the student’s academic achievement, behavioral growth, socio-emotional relationships, and personal development.  The One-on-One Assistant must adapt to the particular educational/therapeutic needs of the student(s).

 

 

Physical Requirements

 

The employee must demonstrate physical strength, agility, and energy to perform essential job functions and to ensure health, welfare, and safety of all students and of self.  The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by the employee to perform the essential functions of the job: sitting, standing, reaching, walking, lifting, bending, crouching, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, finger dexterity, carrying, repetitive motions, speaking, listening, and visual acuity.  The employee must lift and/or move a minimum of 50 pounds.
