Qualifications:
-
Ability to communicate effectively with various employers on behalf of students/adults with disabilities.

Experience performing small group instruction for adults with disabilities related to daily living and community activities – preferred.

New Jersey residence within one (1) year from date of hire.
- New Jersey Substitute certificate preferred
Responsibilities
- Assists vocational coordinator, teachers and related staff for the purpose of supporting lesson plans and/or developing students' vocational skills
- Collects proper documentation for the purpose of meeting the required items for program participation and/or parent/guardian approval
- Maintains a variety of confidential and non-confidential manual and electronic lists and records for the purpose of documenting activities and/or providing reliable information
- Monitors student performance in a variety of work sites according to program guidelines for the purpose of identifying areas requiring additional training on techniques and methods for maintaining solid work habits
- Prepares a variety of documents, reports and written materials (e.g. reports, instructions, memos, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information to teachers, providing written support used for developing recommendations and/or conveying information
- Tutors students in vocational skills (e.g. work requirements, interviewing skills, self-determination, etc.) for the purpose of enhancing their readiness for employment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The employee must demonstrate physical strength, agility, and energy to perform essential job functions and to ensure health, welfare, and safety of all students and of self. The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by the employee to perform the essential functions of the job: sitting, standing, reaching, walking, lifting, bending, crouching, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, finger dexterity, carrying, repetitive motions, speaking, listening, and visual acuity. The employee must lift and/or move a minimum of 50 pounds.
